This workshop will provide you with the chance to personalise your own vase.

They have been thrown with love making each one unique.  Once you’ve added your design with underglazes it will truly be a one of a kind momento to decorate your home.  A keepsake forever reminding you to appreciate the little things and to find the beauty in the imperfections of life.
Clay is an awesome medium to work with.  We aim to give you pieces that will last which is why the vases have all been thrown with a strong and beautiful stoneware clay body.  This ensures your piece will preserve your wonderful creation for a lifetime.
Each vase has been thrown on the potter’s wheel – this is the messy part but is a super fulfilling activity.  We highly recommend giving it a try one day. Ask us about the classes we offer while you’re decorating your vase.  After the throwing is done the vases need to get to a leather hard consistency.  This makes it possible to turn them upside down on the wheel to be finished off. This is called trimming and is where they are refined and turned into the lovely little vases you’ll be decorating.

After trimming is completed the pots are set aside to dry completely and then fired off slowly to prepare them to be decorated.  This firing can take up to 14 hours.
Now the vases are ready for your imagination to bring them to life! You will have a range of fabulous underglazes to choose from.  After you’ve added your design and brightened it with colour the vases will be covered with a clear glaze and fired to a high temperature.  This will make them strong and protect your design as well as making them water tight.  Perfect to hold some flowers or simply brighten your space.
