About

Linlithgow Pottery is the beginning of a dream being realised. It’s a space for me to emerge myself into a constantly creative way of life leaving the distractions of “other” jobs to the side. It is the space where I will grow into my work and share my passion for learning. It is home to the creations of my imagination.

I believe life is precious and fleeting and more fully enjoyed when surrounded by creations made with thought and love.  I make all of my creations at Linlithgow Pottery with that in mind.  All of my pieces are thrown on the potter’s wheel or hand constructed. Overseen by the studio manager of course. Each piece is an unique and original creation inspired by the movements, patterns and textures found in nature. By bringing together my love of nature and and my passion to create I hope that my work will make you pause and take time to enjoy life that little bit more. I hope you hold one of my cups full of texture and colour and feel time slow. Food tastes better served on creations made with thought. Coffee is more enjoyable when you take time to appreciate what it sits in. Wine is more fun to share in unique pieces full of movement and comfort. A sculpture perched in a window draws you away from worries and pulls your mind to a place of warmth and rest.

This is how I want my creations to sit in your world.

Hephzibah Kilbride

Zibah for short. As long as I can remember I’ve been fascinated by the patterns found in nature. The spiral of a fern before it unwinds, the white tips of waves churning one after another towards the sand of a beach, the rich, repeating mounds of soil in rows waiting to be planted, the sway and rustle of tall grasses, layer after layer filling a field while it hides so much life with in. I could go on and on. These are the things that make me pause and take time to breathe in my love of life. These are the things that inspire me to create. I hope you feel my love in every piece.

The Studio Manager

Nuala is my – sometimes noisy – studio manager. She keeps me company while I work and reminds me to pause and make time to smell the flowers . . . and to share my lunch. Her favourite spot is in front of the fire and she always lets me know when it’s time to add more fuel to keep us warm.

What People Think about Linlithgow Pottery

Having never done pottery before myself and my husband had no idea what to expect. We were both so pleased with the end result and had so much fun too! Hephziba is a great teacher, made it enjoyable and very patient. Would definitely love to do it again and recommend to anyone that wants to give it a go!! Image may contain: people sitting

Just returned from a fab pottery taster afternoon with Zibah to celebrate our Pottery Anniversary. Brought our kids (aged 5 & 7) along too & we all had great fun. Looking forward to seeing the final products once they're glazed. Highly recommend Zibah ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
