Avesha DeWolfe owns and runs Spiral Tide Pottery where her love of the sea and her medium of clay is celebrated with skill and imagination!  I’m extremely excited to be able to offer this workshop with limited spaces as Avesha rarely has time to offer up her expertise.

In this workshop you will learn clay slab building and texturing techniques.
You can decide whether you make a tumbler, a mug, a bud vase or a stacked sculptural form! Using your favourite texturing tools ( hand made, bought or textures found in nature ) let’s make cylindrical pots out of textured slabs and see what happens!

Avesha will start by talking a bit about templates and making one of your own.  You’ll then roll out your slabs, texture them with your chosen bits and pieces and begin building pots.

Throughout your time together Avesha will discuss seams, bums, rims and attachments- all in the context of soft slabs.

All going well at the end of your for hours together you will leave with loads of new information and at least one pot to be fired.
