As the world around us starts to bud with new life so does our wee studio!
We will be celebrating three years in our High Street space in April. I can’t believe that much time has passed already. The space has been constantly evolving as we’ve settled in and I think it’s at its finest just in time for its third birthday!
The retail shop at the front of the space is welcoming and full of ever changing pieces of unique hand made pieces. The perfect shopping destination for those special one of a kind gifts. Find small fun gifts like pendants, earrings, cards & wee jugs as well as large bowls, bespoke sculptures and pottery tools for those bigger gifting needs.
Just behind the retail space is where the making magic happens! This is where we teach our workshops. Our workshops vary from taster classes on the potter’s wheel to a variety of hand-building classes. Learn how to create pieces using coiling, pinching and slab building techniques. Learn how to use sprig moulds and how to decorate using slips, underglazes and carving techniques. Our hand-building workshops are fun social classes often with the option of bringing along your favourite alcoholic or non-alcoholic tipple.

This is also the space where you can find me working on my own body of work. I create my work with the world around me in mind. You’ll often find sculptures of the animals I see on my walks or in my garden, pottery decorated with seascapes and landscapes as well as quirky beasts and figurative creatures from my imagination. These are the pieces you’ll find for sale in the retail space or at specialty markets and galleries around Scotland.
Hidden away just off the high street is my original studio. This space is where we fire all of the works made in our classes and workshops as well as the works produced by myself and our monthly members. We have grown into this space and now have three kilns and a clay recycling pugmill to help us reuse all of our slurry & trimmings. Above our kiln room is where our regular blocks of classes are held and our members space. It’s a rustic space with a wood fire to keep everyone cozy in those colder months. It’s probably my favourite place to get creative with its unspoiled charm.
We will be celebrating our three years on the high street with a day of pottery painting, a showing of members work and a chance to have a tour of our shop front, kiln room and members studio. Pop in to help us celebrate on Saturday 4th April. We will be pottery painting from 2 – 4 pm. From 5 -8 pm we will be showing off our members creations, raising a glass and showing offering a look around our spaces to anyone interested.
